Summary/Abstract: The present paper deals with the hitherto little explored relation of Latin language to Byzantine-Slavic tradition in Slovakia. Since Ancient times, we had been receiving precious spiritual messages through Latin in the territory of Slovakia. Later, they were spread through Christianity and humanism to the more recent periods. In these literary sources Latin can be researched in relation to Greek and Church-Slavic. This relation is best documented in literary sources written by Joannikij Juraj Bazilovič OSBM (1742-1821), spiritual formatter and crucial person of the Byzantine-Slavic tradition in Slovakia.
