Summary/Abstract: The article reveals the history of publishing business in Chernihivschina, especially the traditions of book printing in the XVII – the beginning of the XX centuries on the example of the famous clerical – educational figure Lazar Baranovich stationary book printing, the Ukrainian fabulist Leonid Glibov periodical "Chernihivsky Listok", Boris Grinchenko literature publishing house for people, Chernihivska "Prosvita" publishing activity that became the source and a powerful impulse of the modern book publishing development in the region.
