Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the topic of Cyril and Methodius in the Bulgarian primary school reading books and children’s magazines of the first half of XX century. The analysis shows that the topic appears occasionally and is related to the yearly celebrations, dedicated to the apostles of the Slavonic alphabet, having as its main aim patriotic education of children. The alphabet created by the Holy Brothers is used to mark the boundaries of our native space, which undergoes manipulation with any major political change in the country.
