Demographic structure and incomes of municipalities of Warmia and Mazury in 2010–2014

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article was an attempt to identify and assess the relation of demographic factors with the budget revenue of municipalities of Warmia and Mazury in 2010–2014. The demographic structure of municipalities was characterized by selected demografic indicators and the situation of the budgets was characterized by appropriate budget income indicators. To achieve the purpose of the analysis, Pearson correlation coefficients were used. The results of the study show that relatively strongest effect on budget revenues of municipalities Warmia and Mazury had the age structure of the population and migration (internal and external), and to a lesser extent – gender structure of population. Other factors – such as the number of marriages or births – did not affect the budget revenues. The article also provides recommendations for the local population policy in the municipalities of the investigated province.
