Summary/Abstract: On the basis of the outcomes of the DiVo (Dizionario dei Volgarizzamenti) project, the paper aims at analysing and discussing the case of “multiple translation”. This feature, which has been increasingly taken into account in recent studies, has turned out to be a main aspect of Italian vernacular translations. The paper focuses on a detailed and accurate evaluation of the lexical data through the case study of the translations of the Aeneid, highlighting their textual connections with Dante’s Commedia.
