Summary/Abstract: The article presents a characteristic of information units of professional and cultural activities; noted that the diversity of concepts and definitions of the phenomenon of culture emphasizes multidiscourse category context culture, which removes the need to find its quintessence and causes of structural and functional analysis of volume and the category culture, concepts of activities, cultural activities, subject of cultural activities. Noted the need for clear definition structural and semantic information units of language awareness - the word, term, concept, category.
