Reality and virtuality as a subject of research on digital images

Summary/Abstract: Participation of the real and the virtual in the organisation of communities requires transdisciplinary diagnostic tools. Epistemological metaphors equate virtuality with digitality, and cybertechnology gains the status of planetary human and non-human culture. Reduction blurs cultural dimensions and thus histories of virtuality. Empiria directs our attention to cultures of media context and the horizon of anthropology.
