THE VIEWPOINTS OF B. BOKSHI AND K. TOPALLI ON THE BACK-PLACEMENT OF ALBANIAN LANGUAGE DEFINITE ARTICLE

Summary/Abstract: The back-placement of definite article in Albanian language is one of the most important, most discussable, and most problematic grammatical issues in all the history of Albanian language. Having into consideration the specific and complex nature of this issue, many foreign and native linguists made different linguistic determinations and resolutions.Because of the big number of authors who have dealt with this linguistic problem, but as well as for the reason that the whole theme is treated and represented through two main theories in history of albanology, this study will be focused only in viewpoints of our two linguists, Bokshi and Topalli. The essence of back-placement of the definite article in Albanian language, except of some nuances is reduced mainly in two theories; thus in the initial predetermined position of this article towards parts of nominative group and in the theory of its original predetermined position towards elements of this group. Consequently, in this way is justified even the selecting of above-marked authors.These two linguists are assigned as two of the main representatives of our era of the two different theories, because they have dedicated even monographic studies to the issue of the article in general, and back-placement of definite article, in particular. Scientific works of Bokshi The Route of formation of the current nominal flexion of Albanian language (1980) and the monograph Back-placement of definite article in Balkan languages (1984), and the research writing of Topalli Albanian language articles (2009) are known in the history of albanology, which at once constitute even the supportive theoretical basis for this study.Through this study is claimed to be discussed and displayed the theory of pre-placement of definite article and the theory of back-placement of it in Albanian, which are represented by the authors who are a reference of the study and scientific evidence and arguments should be issued, which prove either one of the theories.
