Summary/Abstract: Literature is made of the imaginary weaving of feelings and experiences. Thanks to fiction, the reader is able to better understand the world surrounding him. Art in general, and literature in particular, do not result from facts, but from unlimited and free imagination. Nevertheless, the human ability to imagine, although boundless, is often a projection of real-life ventures. The writer builds his fictional foundation as a transfiguration of experiences, either lived first hand or by others. It is not rare, among Albanian fiction writers, to establish a narration based on historical or autobiographical facts, thus transforming a certain reality in their fictional core elements. We aim to analyse this transition from fact to fiction through the survey of the short stories writen by four contemporary Albanian writers: Ardian Vehbiu, Shkëlqim Çela, Arben Dedja and Primo Shllaku. In some (of these) cases, the authors do not feel the need to distance themselves from the story. They tell their stories without any conventional intermediation, including concrete details and vibes that are clearly related to their personal lives, placing the reader in the midst of real life events, displacing time from past to present.
