Summary/Abstract: Permeating all aspects of the contemporary life, the new media has recently emerged as a significant and critical tool for political communication by facilitating an easy, effective and succinct transfer of political propaganda and discourse to the electorate. A micro blog website that structurally differentiates itself from other new media tools, Twitter has attracted a remarkable number of users in Turkey as it does in the world, and it has come to be taken more seriously by the society due to more usage frequency by the users and increasing attention by the visual media and printed press. Given the current state of Twitter, political leaders actively and regularly share in their official Twitter accounts since it enables them to immediately reach thousands of people via a single tweet. In this context, the purpose of this study is to analyze the tweets of three political leaders whose parties entered the Turkish Grand National Assembly by crossing the election threshold in the general parliamentary election of June 7th, 2016 (except for the leader of MHP) for the dates from May 31st to June 6th, 2015 based on the Theory of Conversational Implicature developed by Paul Grice.
