Summary/Abstract: Analyzing from the position of intelligentsia studies the series of books “Perm as a text” (Perm, 2009), first of all the collection of essays by S. L. Fedotova “Molotov’s cocktail” and the monograph by O. L. Leibovich “In the Town of M: Essays of political everyday life of a Soviet province in the 40s—50s of the 20th century”, the author of the article represents the im-ages of intelligentsia members in authority in the sphere of a Russian provin-cial town in the years of the post-war Stalinism, “thaw” and “stagnation”, underlines the features of intelligence of a number of professional nomencla-ture members and shows the political struggle or the spiritual resistance of intelligentsia that was in the opposition to the regime and its members. After O. L. Leibovich the notion of the nomenclature and intelligentsia clan is ana-lyzed in the article.
