The status of economic operator in public procurements in Poland

Summary/Abstract: This article describes the status of economic operator and his/her role in public procurements in Poland. The considerations focus on variable understanding of the meaning of economic operator depending on the stage of specific proceeding and sort of procedure. In the article, the occurrences are introduced which cause the obtainment and loss of the status of economic operator. This issue still makes a lot of problems during the application of the Polish public procurements law. In the final section, the author indicates why above-mentioned status is so important to an award of the contract.
