Summary/Abstract: Along with globalization process, labor market and employment policies have been undergoing fundamental transformations in Turkey since 1980’s. Above all, sub-contractor practice has become a dominant form of employment in production sector and the use of subcontracting has given significant problems and outcomes – low wages, precariousness, unorganized labor, poor working conditions, work-related accident, job security etc. – for labor force since 2000’s. In this study, alongside with these crucial problems, the prevalence and the impact of subcontracting relations in public and private sector will be explored and analyzed from 2000 to 2016 in Turkey. The aim of this study is to identify the contextual problems and put forward some implications of this process as well as some suggestions for future studies.
