Summary/Abstract: Statistical indicators of lightning strikes in Lithuania are reviewed and compared with analogous statistics of Denmark in the paper. Lightning caused damage is also investigated. The work contains the calculations of optimal insurance payments. The analysis of commercial proposals by insurance companies and the statistical data of EU insurance companies are also provided Finally, the importance of wind turbines and the necessity of insurance are analysed, insurance payments to wind power plants are described.
