Summary/Abstract: Nietzsche could construe Life as self-overcoming due to a specific interpretation of sensibility in the modern age. According to this view, reason has lost its capacity to understand reality, to grasp the „truth.” Consequently, the truth became an illusion. In Nietzsche’s thought, this reversal led to the idea that Life ceased to have an internal purpose, its sole content being the will to power, i.e., control over its environment. To do this, Life can no longer grow into predetermined form, but it must create itself continuously according to the conditions of an ever-changing environment
