Problems of selecting supplier in green chain supply ‒ analytical study

Summary/Abstract: The selections of the supplier in the supply chain is one of the most important decision-making processes that affect all the supply chain. . An important element is the indication of the criteria that are dedicated to the supplier selection in the green supply chain. A new supply chain strategy requires a specific approach and the use of dedicated tools and instruments. The article shows how the situation looks in the Polish economic reality. The findings will serve as one of the elements for the construction of a system and model for assessing the functioning of the green supply chain. Due to the limited nature of the text, the criterion inference was limited to the food industry. Key aims include: (1) an indication of the basis for analyzing supplier selection in the green supply chain; (2) defining research gaps from the theoretical point of view (3) identifying supplier selection criteria catalog (based on critical literature review), with particular emphasis on the needs of the green supply chain; and (4) presentation of research results related to the scope, analysis, inference, identified constraints and re-directives.
