The concept of a chronotope. Historical and cultural analysis

Summary/Abstract: In culturology the topic of formulation of time and space coordinates in contemporary culture becomes of more and more actualization. There is a need to look over the genealogy of this concept in history of culture, meaning the specific of culturological analysis and reminding given by Mikhail Bakhtin formulation of chronotope as the enter to the sphere of senses producing in culture. Looking through the changes in world-outlook during the history – since the Archaic Cultures and up to the Society of Postmodernity, the author puts the question about the necessity of new concepts forming for defining the chronotope of contemporary culture where the system of traditional concepts doesn’t work.
