Summary/Abstract: Introduction: Social stimulation and cognitive training are modern activation methods that are helping professionals that work with patients with dementia. Cognitive training focuses on maintaining and/or practising daily tasks, as well as on doing various to improve attention, concentration, episodic and verbal memory. The issues concerning activation methods inrecipients of social services are extensive, and include a wide range of methods, forms and approaches. Focus: The article focused on methodology of social stimulation and cognitive training for professionals working in social and healthcare services. It describes the organization of the work of helping professions, as well as the methodology of cognitive training and social stimulation. Findings: Human factor remains a significant factor in social and healthcare services. The link between the preparation of activation and the activation itself affects the quality of helping work and the quality of helping work and the quality of life of the recipients of social services. Conclusion: The preparedness of helping professionals to work with different target groups and to provide quality social care largely depends on educational institutions. New trends in activation methods of social services recipients are constantly evolving and offer many improvements and innovations. With this article, we would like to point out the possibilities for improvingthe quality of education and social services performed by the helping professionals using activation methods.
