Summary/Abstract: Modernism had brought a change in all the fields of art and the artists were forced to produce works under the light of modern thinking. This also had its influence on the art of photography and it urged the photographer to find new ways of expression. The technological advancement of the Eighties made way for the digital photography. This was inevitably brought the photographer face to face with using various programs created for processing his digital photographs. The rapid advancement of digital cameras and these processing programs enabled the photographer to produce works with relative ease and with the use of these new opportunities and techniques and manipulations he could try his creative skills to achieve results which had never been imagined before. In this milieu of creation presented to him by technology, the photographer today can create his virtual gallery on the internet, and doing so he no longer needs a curator, an institution or an actual gallery to present his works to millions of people in the world without the limitations of time and space.
