Summary/Abstract: The works for establishing a museum in Anamur began with laying the foundations of the museum building in 1976. The arrangement and exhibition works were started after the completion of the construction works in 1990 and were concluded in 1992. Until that time, due to the lack of a proper museum in Anamur, the artifacts from Anamur region had been sent to the Archaeological Museums of Silifke, Alanya and Erdemli for protection and exhibition. These artifacts were brought to the Archaeological Museum of Anamur between 1990-1992. Especially after the shutting down of Museum of Erdemli, many artifacts from there were transferred to the Archaeological Museum of Anamur. A group of black-glazed pottery of Celenderis origin, the material of this paper, are among these artifacts. These vases were found in Celenderis during the intense illegal excavations of 1960s and 1970s or by chance and then were sold to the Museum of Erdemli. They are probably from the necropoleis of Celenderis. 23 black-glazed vases in 11 different forms were detected in the museum. Among the blackglazed pottery of Celenderis origin in the collection of the Archaeological Museum of Anamur, stemless, bolsals and squat lekythoi are the largest groups of finds. The earliest examples of these vases are from the last quarter of the 6th century BC and the latest examples are from the third quarter of the 4th century BC.
