Summary/Abstract: There are studies which conducted on the base of the idea that social dominance orientation is not a personality dimension but rather an attitude which has relationship with personality. The purpose of this study is investigation of the relationship of social dominance orientation with personality features. According to findings %30,6 of the variance of social dominance orientation is explained by education, gender, and cooperativenes character dimension. Women differed from men with higher scores in self directedness and cooperativeness. It was determined that lower scores in terms of cooperativeness and self directedness character dimensions is related with higher scores in social dominance orientation. Despite the fact that at first social dominance orientation have been introduced as a personality factor which is related with supporting group based discrimination, recently social dominance orientation is accepted as an attitude which has relationship with certain personality features. The findings of this study are parallel with the conceptualisation of social dominance as an attitude.
