A RESEARCH ON THE EFFECTS OF INTERNET ON PRESCHOOL CHİLDREN

Summary/Abstract: In recent years, a significant increase has been observed in the widespread use and use of internet technologies. The internet, which removes the restriction of time and place in communication, encompasses all the people of the society, especially children and young people, from day to day, by incorporating advanced technological elements. In this context, the researches on the internet which attracted great attention by the children in the social field have started to increase in recent years.In this research, a large literature search was done firstly, and through the in-depth interview with the participation of 16 parents living in Ankara, the internet usage habits of the children between 3-6 years of the preschool age and the observations and thoughts about the internet usage of the children of their parents were tried to be revealed. In addition, a number of recommendations have been made for healthy internet use. Results; 'Children's internet use time, children's content choices on the internet, parental control of their children's internet usage, measures taken by parents for internet usage of children, internet effects on children'. The results obtained and the recommendations presented are expected to be useful to parents in terms of their children's correct attitudes towards internet use.
