Summary/Abstract: The paper sets forth the task of analysing a new opportunity on the labour market in Bulgaria – the outsourcing centres. They are rapidly turning into the major and often the single option for youth employment in big cities and the country is currently considered to be among top outsourcing destinations. This paper is an effort to comprehend the unprecedented development of the sector in the last fifteen years and in particular the work of the client service centres, because global companies mainly outsource call centres or client service centres in the country. It reveals some changes in the labour market, in youth alternatives for work, but also in the idea of successful career development and of an adequate professional biography. Analyses of youth unemployment, of work motivation and strategies concerning education degree and professional experience are done in Bulgaria mainly through quantitative methods. Therefore our aim here is rather to present a fieldwork (a participant observation in two of the major outsourcing companies in Bulgaria and in-depth interviews) and, through the work experience in the outsourcing centres, to catch in-depth changes among youths, the construction of their individual identity and biographic strategies, their sense of community membership, and their visions of the future.
