Summary/Abstract: Presenting some kind of hermeneutics of the nostalgic metaphor of the Origin, the text is an essay on the structure of substitution, constituted by the game of absence and presence. An essential fact is that substitution constitutes the paradigmatically developing metaphor of Origin. However, it is not less essential that, according to the apt phrase of Derida, by making the space, substitution makes visible the imperceptible, a quiet almost invisible movement of divergence. Everything is a sign. Each sign refers to a sign. Thus, the Origin looks as if it is in action. In this way, though, precisely this “as if in action” disunites, disperses, questions the perfectness of the Origin.
