Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses various social representations of the modern family in Greece in popular comic television series. In particular, it discusses topics as various forms of family, household and post marital residence, the educational level of the family members, especially of the spouses or partners, their occupation, the gender labour division in the household, aspects of inheritance and management of family property as well as stereotypical representations of “different” family members, extramarital affairs, and intra-family traditional confrontational relationships. Furthermore, it is investigated whether these representations of the Greek family correspond to the modern Greek reality.
