Summary/Abstract: In this research the pigeon figure, which expresses the mythologial richness of Turkish culture, has been emphasized on and the meaning attributed to pigeon besides its reflections in traditional arts in Turkish-Islamic belief have been researched. The way how the pigeon figure had been dealed with in the percept of national art, throughout the period beginning Middle East to Republican period, has been researched. From the Republican period up to now, by examining the paintings of some Turkish artist such as Ferruh BAŞAGA, Orhan PEKER, Sobutay OZER, Yusuf BAYTEKIN, Kadir SISGINOGLU, Rem-zi IREN, Fikri CANTURK, Murat OZDEMIR, Fatih MIKA, Osman YILMAZER and Hü-seyin YILDIRIM, it has been tried to identify how these artists have feflect according to their own comments and plastic approaches.
