Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the artistic awareness of the students in institutions that provide art education based on student opinions. The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations is set as an example. Research has been made on how well the students know the museum and the collection, how often they visit the museum, whether they are informed of the events at the museum, and their tendency to examine the periodical features and morphology of the foundlings as well as the variety of the materials used. The effect of the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations on establishing a consciousness of cultural heritage, the contribution of the museum in the national and international artistic interactions, and the reflection of this level of awareness on the artwork of the students are discussed in the research. The 5-point Likert scale questionnaire with 27 questions, developed by the researcher, was conducted at the Gazi University, the Middle East Technical University and the Hacettepe University on the students who are at the undergraduate level. The questionnaire was conducted in the academic year of 2015. The stratified sampling that was created with the random method was restricted to 321 persons. It was conducted with 1st grade and 4th grade students at the departments of arts and design, architecture, industrial design, painting-crafts teaching, painting, sculpture and ceramics. In the light of the findings, it has been concluded that the level of awareness of the students towards the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations is low and they do not show sufficient development in the 4 years of undergraduate education.
