Summary/Abstract: The authors, sociologists of religion from the University of Niš (Serbia), attempting to profile the The Sociology of Orthodoxy, edited an eponymous topic in this issue of the journal Teme. In that direction, they comment critically upon the papers presented in the topic from the prominent world, European and Serbian sociologists of religion and theologists, among which are the authors who have contributed undoubtedly to the sociological research of Eastern Christianity, and in that way to the Sociology of Orthodoxy, such as D. Savramis, A. Buss, V. Makrides, T Bremer, N. Dimitrova, R. Bigović, M. Blagojević and Z. Krstić. Based on this topic, but with further ten or so papers, a book Sociology and Orthodoxy will appear during 2010, which will be edited by Dragoljub B. Đorđević and Miloš Jovanović for the German foundation “Konrad Adenauer“ (Belgrade) and the Yugoslav Society for the Scientific Study of Religion – YSSSR (Niš).
