LEFT-HAND TECHNIQUE PROBLEMS OF VIOLIN STUDENTS GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS

Summary/Abstract: For a qualified performance on violin playing, it is very important intervention of the students' posture, holding and technical problems immediately from the beginning of the violin education to prevent the placement of wrong habits. The most common problems in violin playing are usually technical problems about the left-hand. This study aims to reveal the problems of the left-hand technique of the students who have started violin education in fine arts high school and who have studied violin for 4 years. In the light of the results obtained from the study, it was stated that the teachers and students should go to the source of the problems and what should be done for solution. It is expected that working in this direction will yield useful results. In accordance with the purpose of the study, a literature search was conducted to determine the problems related to the left-hand technique in violin education and left-hand technique problems were determined and explained. The left-hand technique problems were transformed into observation form and applied to the study group. 15 violin students graduated from high school of fine arts, has been determined as the study group, in order to determine the problems of the left-hand technique of the violin students, observations were made by listening to the studies that the students had studied during the period. The frequency and percentage values of the data obtained from the observation form were calculated and reported.
