The Book of Jelali Koroglu in the Tbilisi Archive

Summary/Abstract: The Book of Celali Koroghlu (Kitab-ı Celalî Köroğlu), preserved in the archive of the Georgian National Center of Manuscripts, is regarded as the oldest copy in the written form of this magnificent folk epic of the Turkish descent. The work was published by translating the manuscript text from the Arabic alphabet to the Latin alphabet and examined in certain respects. In this article, it is aimed to introduce the work in question to Turkish literature and folklore, and to reflect on the important scientific aspects of the work. Thus, this study deals with the traces of Georgia in the Epic of Koroghlu, explains the masthead in-formation of Koroghlu's Tbilisi manuscript, examines the summary of the plot of the work and the image of the Ottoman place in the work.
