Summary/Abstract: The handrafts, which reflect not only the mankind’s sentiment, idea and the charasteristics of the place that they live but also their customs from the beginning, are one of the most important culture treasures that humanbeings carry from past to present. Also, it is an ancient art branch that comes out people’s need for ornamentation and to protect themselves against the climate and the outer impacts. Therefore; in most parts of Anatolia, it is possible to encounter the handknitting which takes place in the trational handcrafts as a branch of knitting. Nowdays, although socks and bootees knitting has been decreased as a result of mechanisation, the women of Isparta region still continue it in order to make use of their spare time, protect the climate effects, to support the family economy and to from the girls dower. In this work, the 12 pieces of woman bootees, 8 pieces of women socks, 2 pieces man socks and 1 pieces of child socks in the Culture House of Isparta Hand-in Hand Association have been handled. The knitting tecniques, the used tools, colour, the ornoment and pattern desing features have been examined and shown by photos. These socks and bootees are aimed to be given a new meaning, adopted and certified.
