Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the Indo-European roots for milk and diary products and their continuants in the Balkan languages. The early Indo-European milk-related vocabulary confirms the special role of milk in Indo-European expansions. Special attention is paid to the words суроватка and urdhë, inspected by Prof. M. Moskov.
