Summary/Abstract: There are countless works which are associates, same or similar to each other in art history. At the point of analysis or transmission of these works, many concepts and definition difficulties come with it. In this study, especially the concepts of copy, imitation / imitation, inspiration, inspiration, joke / interpretation copy in the history of paintings are emphasized; It is thought that it will be easier to read the art work by showing specific pictures. It will be tried to be clarified as much as possible through examples, to what extend the originality and similarities between mentioned concepts can be or cannot be separated from each other. Concepts of subjectivity, innovation, uniqueness and imitation, copy, inspiration have always been a matter of debate. However, the aim of this study, is not to be a side of the current debates, but rather to provide explanations on re-production, especially focusing on concepts such as learning copying, imitation and inspiration from the Renaissance until today.
