Summary/Abstract: The medieval Serbian writer Theodosius develops a wide reception of the biblical verses in his poetry in order to present an encomium for St. Symeon and St. Sava. Theodosius, in his poetical opus, uses much of the Psalter, the most poetic and the most widely known biblical book among the medieval Serbian monks. Among the 150 Psalms, Theodosius is especially interested in the Ps 1, as the very beginning of the Psalter, and appropriates a wide range of motifs of the Ps 1,1–3 in order to present in a pesheric way the lives of “the Holy Two”, namely St. Symeon and St. Sava.
