Summary/Abstract: Poems in prose are one of the genres that formed modern literature since symbolism by steady demolition of normative poetics. Poem in prose is a diffuse genre which shares common characteristics with several other genres, such as short stories, parables, or anecdotes, as well as showing high variability in characteristics within the genre. In an attempt to outline the traits of poems in prose, we compared them with traits possessed by short stories.
