Summary/Abstract: Associated with Internet enter people’s life a lot of important changes have occurred in the tourism industry like as most the other sectors. One of these changes have occurred in the tourism marketing and distribution system. Traditional tourism distribution system that customers use travel agency branch office is supplanting new distribution system which customers buy tourism product on internet sites. Thus, it has emerged the concept of tourism information system, which is a new type of information systems that they are named Online Travel Agencies (OTAs). These new systems which sell vacation packages, accommodation and travel products over the internet, are becoming increasingly common. This study emphasized the importance of online travel agencies, their position with in the sector and their benefits and disadvantages. Otherwise this study research that why customers choose OTAs instead of traditional travel agencies and usage rates. For this purpose, we applied a survey study on sample. The results provided using OTAs has significant relationship between customers’ level of education. In addition, why respondents prefer buying holiday package or accommodation on the internet, having the highest proportions in options are user reviews and compare prices. Also reliability has lowest rate choose OTAs.
