Several remarks on the research into the history of reception

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the history of research into reception in the field of musicology and the role in investigating this research played by Karol Berger, Michał Bristiger and Jan Stęszewski. According to Jim Samson, the beginning of research into reception in the field of musicology can be traced to the conference organized by Hermann Danuser and Friedhelm Krummacherin 1988, whereas in fact this event had been preceded by a conference organized by Bristiger at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna in 1986. The author presents the results of research into the previously unpublished archival materials related to this conference.
