Summary/Abstract: The study discusses the Moravskoslezská revue journal, which was published in the years 1905-23 and achieved – for those times – an extraordinary number of sixteen years. One of the reasons why it was only marginally reflected by literary historians may have consisted in its changing literary importance influenced both by the situation in the board of editors at different times and by the conception of the culture page of the journal, which was never clearly stated. The study presents a comparison of two periods for illustration: in the former the reflection of literary life was seen as a mere complement to the discussion of political, social and ethnic problems of Moravia and Silesia, whereas the latter, connected with the names of Mrštík brothers, suggested possibilities of a generous project of cultural and literary journal drawning upon its roots and at the same time opened to supraregional impulses.
