Summary/Abstract: This paper presents a part of Jelena J. Dimitrijević’s correspondence with Isidor Đurđević, her publisher from Sarajevo, mostly from the mid 1918. Thanks to the Historical Archive of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) her three letters are published here for the first time, while some lines of her partly damaged letters are quoted and commented. Dimitrijević’s letters reveal several important information. Together with the initiative in publishing her Pisma iz Soluna (Letters From Thessaloniki), she took the initiative in printing a new edition of Jovan Skerlić’a Istorija nove srpske književnosti (History of New Serbian Literature) in Sarajevo. Also, Dimitrijević revealed that her Pisma iz Soluna were cenzored by Skrelić as the editor of Srpski književni glasnik, giving further the suggestion that her work kept its powerful political messages through a certain amount of time. In the correspodence she also mentioned two titles of her travel writings, that are new as being unknown to us till today. Her initiative in printing Skelić’s History is interpreted as an irony, from the context of her confronting with the Serbian authorities of public knowledge. Along with new facts about her work, this business correspondence reveals some character traits of Jelena Dimitrijević. She is energetic, critical, and effective writer, aware of the literary and cultural value of her work.
