O ЕСЕЈИСТИЦИ МИОДРАГА ПАВЛОВИЋА
ON MIODRAG PAVLOVIĆ’S ESSAYISM

Summary/Abstract: The goal of this paper is to point out the outstanding range, merit and volume of Miodrag Pavlović’s essayistic and critical practice. In this regard, I draw attention to some of its main directions. The first one refers to the segment of Pavlović’s opus that deals with principal literary-theoretical issues, the second one to his highly productive examination of our poetic heritage, including periods both from more recent history as well as from the Serbian medieval and oral tradition, while the third one is concerned with Pavlović’smythical-anthropological thought. The paper also discusses the obvious interrelationship between these three distinct essayistic platforms of Pavlović’s work, but also the connection between his poetry and his overall essayistic endeavors. Finally, special attention is paid to his essays’ discursive characteristics.
