Summary/Abstract: The paper argues that the disparity of literary strategies in Pavić’s Dictionary of the Khazars: A Lexicon Novel can be put together only with the procedure of a continuous pendulum motion between fi ction and faction. The stated issue is analysed from the aspect of two writerly forms: dictionary and novel.
