Summary/Abstract: This study focuses on Miroslav Jaroš (1897–1970), an important representative of Czechoslovak orthopaedic surgery and co-creator of modern trends in his field of specialisation. The author presents his professional biography, closely following his professional development, lecturing activities, and publications. Jaroš defended his habilitation in 1946 and was appointed professor in 1955. His career culminated in 1958, when he was appointed head of the First Clinic for Orthopaedic and Paediatric Surgery of the Charles University.
