Summary/Abstract: In this research - Eschatological elements present in the byzantine funeral rite - I had in mind, using the liturgical texts, to highlight the basic aspects of eschatology from the byzantine rite of burial and to identify the main eschatological elements. Therefore I noticed with due attention the main eschatological themes which the burial text proposes, such as: Death, Eternal life (Heaven), Hell, Parousia and the Advent. The red line of the article is the intention of rediscovering the wealth of the liturgical expressions which illustrates the central aspects of the eschatological reality, deep and contemplative expressions whereby the byzantine rite of funeral describes moments of pain, death and hope of eternal life.
