Summary/Abstract: Social media platforms are among communication channels used by local governments to build relationships with the environment in which receiving feedback is an important element. The article presents the results of the study of city communication on Facebook.com. The author applies indicator of municipalities’ ranking in the portal. Categorization of the message was built and analyzed in the context of PR. The results indicate that local governments build relationships through the “distribution of emotions”, which consists of publishing content that evokes the most numerous reactions of social media users.
