Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the results of an online survey conducted in 2016 among university students in Cracow. The survey included students of the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Jagiellonian University. Its aim was to verify students’ expectations of academic libraries and also to try and get an idea of trends in the perception of the role and significance of libraries in university teaching. Some changes – for example a decrease in student interest in traditional library services in favour of free space development – have already been observed by the librarian community and have merely been confirmed by the findings of the survey.
