Summary/Abstract: Stanislav Krakov’s Krila (The Wings) (1922) is a short avantgarde novel which most consistently expresses the new narrative possibilities close, that is analogous to the techniques of film montage. Unlike other avantgarde authors (Miloš Crnjanski or Dragiša Vasic), in Krakov’s case one can already talk about the more direct and intensive merging between the novel and film. Specific narrative procedure with which the novel Krila was realized is in this text related to the standpoints of some avantgarde authors about film, primarily to Sergej Eisenstein’s reflections about the technique of film montage, as well as to the programme standpoints of some avantgarde narrators like Alfred Doblin, to base the novel on some cinematographic principles.
