Summary/Abstract: In this essay, the author discusses three plays by Lj. Simovic, analyzing the basic principles of poetics of his dramatic creation. Interpreting the basic elements of Simovic’s plays, like space, time, characters, speech and language, composition, the author tries to clarify the relation between these mentioned elements of dramatic work and a specific image of the world which is formed in Simovic’s plays. In his essay, the author specially points to the categories of humour, comic elements and grotesque, which in Simovic’s dramatic opus occupy a significant place. Pointing to an erosive role of these elements within the tragic image of the world represented in these plays, the author discusses the degree to which Simovic deconstructed myth on the one hand, and raised the presented reality to a newly-created myth on the other.
