Summary/Abstract: The present-day tourist policies of states depend on numerous elements, actions and measures that contribute to the adequate and controlled development of the tourism sector. Conducting tourism policy requires knowledge to be able to assess the current situation and to predict the future directions of development. Adequate organizational solutions are of a great significance to the cohesion of tourism policy. It is to be noted that in most of those countries where tourism plays an important role in their economies, two principal tourism policy entities have been distinguished on the central (national level), i.e. NTO - National Tourism Organizations and NTA - National Tourism Administrations. National Tourism Organizations may function in three forms, i.e. as government organizations, quasi-government organizations and non-government organizations. The purpose of the present article is an analysis of the functioning of selected NTO on the international tourism market, namely those that possess a non-government organizational form.
