The Year’s Cycle in Galicia

Summary/Abstract: In the article the two time periods of the years’s cycle are analysed on material from the Galicia area. The characteristic features are shown according to the work activities, the rites (personage, ritual practice, food), and the existence of different, based on sex and age division, groups in the chief calendar feasts. The two time periods are represented as the essential elements of an entity – the year’s cycle, having no punctual border-line between them.
