ASPECTS OF FABULOUSNESS IN MILOVAN GLIŠIĆ’S PROSE

Summary/Abstract: The text investigates initially contradictory relation between Milovan Glišic’s prose and the poetics of fabulousness. Special attention is directed toward the interpretation of those Glišic’s short stories in which the complex links of this inter-relation are reflected in several planes, including: the traits of the characters, plot plane, motives or form of narration. The interpretation also confronts the leading surveys of the prose done so far — specially of the fantastic part in Milovan Glišic’s literary opus — with some of the recent perspectives in the analysis and experience of the fictitious world of this Serbian realist writer. The key field of investigation leads to the observation related to the esthetic plane of the source texts, starting from the standpoint implying the application of recent methodological procedures.
